Regenerative Culture Hub – Schools Climate Strike… Culture Night Sept 20th 2019

Regenerative Culture Hub & Permaculture Canal Trail Walk

Third Space Galway is hosting a Regenerative Culture Hub in collaboration with Fridays for Futures and Extinction Rebellion Galway during the Global Climate Schools Strike from 1-4pm on Friday 20th September.

School students have been striking for climate action all year.. this Friday, they want us to join them –

The global strike for climate is asking for adults to join strike events in their local communities, and support the student-led movement !!!

Join is in Eyre Square, as part of the Global Climate Strike!!!

At 7pm, Post Strike Culture Night Regenetative, Restorative action with Third Space Galway, will take the form of a mindful body movement awareness session with Anna Seitzer, along our Permaculture Biodiversity Canal Trail as part of the City Wide Culture Night events.

Join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly day!

We know that acting for climate justice is thirsty work so come along to our yurt and sample some organic food and herbal teas grown in our very own Permaculture Canal Trail and Permaculture Demonstration Garden in Shantalla!

Our Regen nurturing space is open to everyone to come and unwind and get a taste of the local Galway Food scape and what a regenerative future might look like, in an exhibition of artwork ‘ReGreening Galway’ by TSG member Noreen Moore, as part of Culture Night events

The climate, ecological and cultural crisis will change our world drastically. Regenerative culture looks for answers to how we can cocreate a thriving alternative and to reimagine what we want the future to look like… by co-creating flourishing ecosystems and a future where the individual, the community and the planet thrive; with the social, cultural, ecological and economic benefits mutually reinforcing each other, and by reconnecting our natural and cultural spaces.

These events also take part in a European wide celebration with Ecolise as part of the International day of Sustainable Community actions, exploring the roles and aspects of permaculture and regenerative cultural design and Community Green Spaces that are at the heart of all our projects.

Third Space Galway offers a creative platform, celebrating the polycultures of people and place, cocreating our present futures by nurturing regenerative (agri)culture, environmentally-friendly food policy, and local, healthy, sustainable and resilient communities and food systems based on permaculture’s 3 main priniciples for a more just, ecological and peaceful world:
Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share.

Third Space Galway is working on various regenerative (agri)culture projects in Galway city and county, developing urban green spaces and empowering communities to grow their own food, in projects such as the Permaculture Canal Trail in the city centre, a Permaculture Demonstration Garden in Shantalla, and a demonstration Food Forest in Westside.
